The Benefits of Certifications for Developers
Every supplier has some kind of development path related to certifications in order to prove that someone has basic knowledge. While these certificates can help us to learn and gain knowledge, they are not always able to provide a great rate.
For Azure, Microsoft has created clear development paths. On Microsoft’s website, you can scan the QR Code and check the available certifications to see what is required for a particular path. Having a certification can be an extra point when it comes to recruitment.
Recently at a recruitment event, a candidate had a lot of certifications and demanded a very large amount of money. However, some of the knowledge they had was outdated and some had been forgotten. Once someone has certificates, they are no longer considered a Junior, but already a Mid or Senior. Certifications can get you one position higher.
The most important feature of certification is to raise your credibility as a developer, and not just for Azure, but for certifications in general in the domain that someone wants to develop in. This could be a certificate for SCRUM, a management framework, or Java in the right version.
Java certifications are difficult to pass and can significantly raise the job market quotation. The same applies to Python certifications. However, it is important to remember that too many certifications can work against a candidate.
Certifications should be backed up by practice. Don’t count on getting a job right away after passing certifications. I had a colleague at university who had already reached such a level of knowledge that he was already a Security Engineer at the end of the course.
It’s best to grab an internship to start with, most of which are now paid.
